At ProWeld we have long used Powder-Coating and Conventional Automotive Spray Paints to enhance the look
of our engines. We enjoy putting out a product as nice looking as it runs.
Now, Because of the huge demand…we are opening up our custom Powder-Coating
and Hydro-Dipping services to everyone. I did not realize how many out there do not have access to such
services, or the local powder-coaters do not want to do your small parts.

What is Powder-Coating?
Powder-Coating is a process where a clean, ready to go part is sprayed with a coating of powder resin, all while a electrical charge
is applied. The charge (-) negative is applied to the part, while the powder-coating gets a (+) positive
charge. This makes the powder adhere to the part , with a even complete coating. The
part is then heated in an oven, to between 300-365°F, and the powder melts and distributes
a very even and smooth coating in the color you chose. These process produces a very tough, even, and smooth
coating to protect and beatify the parts. There are many colors and types of coating, from candy like colors,
to textured finishes. Please inquire about colors and finishes available.
Note: Parts have to be able to withstand high heat temps
What is Hydro-Dipping?
Hydro-Dipping is a completely different process then Powder-Coating.
Here we do not use heat to cure the finish. Typically, the part is painted with a Automotive grade
paint, so we can color match your parts to the car's finish….just supply the color code on the door jam.
Once the part is painted, the pattern you choose is floated onto the part by dipping it into a solution that separates
the pattern from its backing. Now it is carefully applied to the part and dried. Once
dry, it will receive several coats of clear paint. So anything hydro-Dipped can survive the elements just
as well as the exterior finish on your car. Advantages are, you can get a part painted to match any color,
and have a wide variety of patterns applied. In our pictures, we used a 2013 Ford School Bus yellow paint
with carbon fiber pattern. This is a more expensive process, but it is also a very interesting and fun
way to make your car stand out.

What does it cost?
As with anything, prices will vary. But, since
the parts have to be cleaned, sanded, de-burred, and all exposed surfaces in reasonable shape with regards to appearance.
You can help keep the cost down by simply sending your parts as clean as possible and in with as
much surface prep as possible. New parts will not require anything, as most interior parts can also be
sent to us as is. We will have to chemically clean all parts, but if you take your time to do the biggest
part of the cleaning, it will not take us as long, which will save you money in the long run. If you're
not worried about cost, no problem, simply throw the parts in the mail and we'll take it from there, just expect to part
a little more.
