Modular 4.6L 2 Valve
For a long time, the Modular 4.6L 2-Valve market has been a bit stagnant; however, there has been a renewed interest in the engine. The release of Trick Flows 2-valve Heads as well as improvement in both carbureted and aftermarket fuel injection systems has also been well received. The re-designed Heads allow for much better breathing. The stock un-ported heads flow much better than any high dollar, custom ported 2-Valve Heads. This means more HP for much less money, and better efficiency and improved power output. The small size of the 2-Valve Head makes if perfect for smaller Engine compartments, and lower hood lines. You can choose from cast iron or aluminum blocks, and have a very powerful small block Engine, one that fits in many vehicles without having to modify or replace the firewalls. This makes the 2-Valve, a great choice for many Hot Rod or Kit Car Vehicles.
Modular 5.4L 3 Valve
3-Valve Engines offer smaller engine packages which work well in Hot Rods and Kit Car re-powers. The 3-Valve Heads flow some very impressive numbers right out of the box and the Variable Cam Timing makes great torque and power. You can have a factory Ford like Engine, or customize one for your specific needs, either way they fit the bill for many applications. The aftermarket has responded well to this engine, and there are many custom pieces available for it. Ford built a ton of these 3-Valve Engines in everything from F-Series Trucks to Mustangs. This engine was in production from 2004-2010. It's a nice little engine with great potential. Ford cut product development when the 5.0L was released. Still, there are many of these engines available for Hot Rodders.
Modular 4.6L 4 Valve
Fords 4-Valve Modular Engine is one of the greatest designs the company has ever produced. The 4-Valve has graced everything from Trucks to Sport models. This engine has also been used in Road Race vehicles like the Ford GT. Voted one of the best top 10 Engine designs in history. The Ford 4-Valve has a very special place in my heart. It is the reason I got into this and the reason ProWeld is still here. In the beginning Ford had what was soon to be known as the TEKSID Block. These all aluminum blocks were made in Italy by TEKSID Aluminum Inc which was the World leader in Cast, Forged and Lost-Foam Aluminum Engine parts. TEKSID provides the world's best automotive manufacturers with the highest quality aluminum pieces in the world. I consider both the old and new 4-valve Engines to be world class engines. We specialize in 03-04 Cobra refered to as the "Terminator" engine. This is the most popular platform to work from as the stock 03-04 engine boasts 500-550 horsepower. IOf you want more power you need a bigger blower and better internal parts. But with the 4-Valve engine as a whole there appears to be no limits on its potential. Today we see 2600-2800HP!
Modular 4.6L Terminator Engine
In 2003 and 2004 Ford Built one of the best Modular Engine of all time. The Cobra Engine also known as the "Terminator". These engines produced an amazing amount of power while getting over 20 MPG on the highway! Only available in the Mustang line and trademarked as the Cobra Package. Only 15,000 of these cars were produced ove a two year span. When these first started hitting the streets, all the known rules changed overnight. Everyone wanted one! Websites as well as retail outlets began offering aftermarket parts for the Terminator design. I think it's fair to say that there have been more engines built to these specifications than all other designs from the factory. Combine that with the ever constant decline of available engines and parts you have a classic. This will be the one that we all look back on and say "Boy what a Engine". We at ProWeld specialize in the Cobra platform and want everyone to know that you can get a new Cobra Super-Charged engine or parts to build your own. Built per Ford secifications with new Ford Parts. We also can supply you with any replacement parts for your roject or all the parts needed to turn your long block into a Cobra replica. Like anything good, it comes in a limited number, and so these parts are getting harder and harder to find, both new and used. We keep a constant look out and supply of both new and used parts. Very soon, the day will come when there will be no more "Terminator" parts from Ford, it's already getting tough. Don't wait any longer for your dream engine.
Modular 5L FR500 4 Valve Engine
Wow, what a Engine! This design has competed in many Road Racing events both here and abroad. Aggressive heads with raised ports allow a more straight shot from intake to combustion chamber. The intake manifolds were a work of art. I have owned every Modular engine made by Ford except the 2000 Ford 5.4L Cobra "R" and this 5.0L Cammer. Let me tell you a bit about the Cammer engine. The FR500C was a racing Engine used in many classes of racing, and is what I have longed for. Produced for Ford by Rousch/Yates Racing and only available to those that were participating in Ford Racing events. This Engine uses a aluminum block that differs from the production blocks. Cast using better materials and under a more controlled environment. Journal webbing is thicker for more reliability. Main bearing caps are of billet steel with a combination of 4-main studs and 2-side bolts. Crankshaft is the forged, fully counter-weighted 8-bolt unit. This was a competition engine that will see more HP and many more RPM's then your typical 4-valve Modular Engine. The Road Racing aspect will subject this Engine to much more abuse then others would ever see. Rousch/Yates is a first class organization. They build many Engines every year for some of the most respected, and feared racing organizations in the business. There is no one thing that makes this a great Engine. It's more a collection of improvements that makes this the most impressive 4-Valve Engine available.
