TRANSPORTATION USE LIMITED WARRANTY FOR CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES
CRATE, CUSTOM OR RESTORATION ENGINE, PART OR ASSEMBLY
To initiate a warranty claim, please contact us immediately at 859-586-4069. Pro Weld Performance Parts. (PWPP) authorization is required before any disassembly or repairs are initiated to diagnose the failure. NOTE: Your failure to call PWPP and receive authorization before any repair work is performed will invalidate your warranty claim.
WHO IS COVERED
PWPP's warranty obligations for any PWPP Crate, Custom or Restoration Engine (“Engine”), Part or Assembly (collectively “Product”) are limited to the original owner of the vehicle in which the Product has been properly installed by an ASE certified or PWPP approved mechanic, and whose owner has signed and returned the appended Warranty Registration Form which is required to activate this warranty. This warranty is not transferable to a second owner and is secondary to all other warranties and manufacturers’ recall that may be in effect. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY ONLY APPLIES TO PRODUCTS INSTALLED FOR THE PURPOSE OF RE-POWERING ON-HIGHWAY CARS, TRUCKS, MUSCLE CARS, OR HOT RODS FOR TRANSPORTATION USE. The limited warranty is not an unconditional warranty against all hazards or failures. This limited warranty shall not apply to defects or conditions caused by misuse, abuse, mis-application, mis-installation, modification, or accident after shipment of the Product. The limited warranty shall also not apply to any Product that has been installed in any application that is used or could be used for competition purposes. This includes but is not limited to, Off-Road, Sand Car, Boat, Air Boat, Road Race Car, Pro Touring Car, and Drag Car. Any engine rated above 1,000 hp shall be deemed as intended for competition purposes.
WARRANTY PERIOD
Product Warranty Periods by Product type are the lesser of:
- Engines without power adders: 1 years or 12,000 miles
- Engines with power adders: 6 months or 6,000 miles
- Parts or Assemblies: 6 months
The start date of the term of the Warranty Period is from either the purchase date of the product from PWPP as shown on your PWPP Invoice -OR- PWPP shipping Bill of Lading evidencing the proof of purchase date, whichever date is first. If purchased from an Installer/Reseller, the start date of the term of the Warranty Period is extended to the PWPP Bill of Lading Date plus Three months, or the date of your Installer/Reseller invoice, whichever date is first.
OWNER OBLIGATIONS AND PROCEDURES
Engines are delivered without oil. They must be filled with oil and primed prior to initial startup. PWPP recommends Joe Gibbs (Driven), BR30 or BR20 Motor Oil. Ultimate purchaser/owner shall assure that an ASE certified mechanic inspects your engine, which inspection should include, but is not limited to a change of oil and oil filter after the first (1.5) hours. Carefully monitor coolant and oil levels for the first 100 hours as oil consumption may be higher during this period. The owner and/or operator is responsible for checking and maintaining ALL fluid levels before and during operation, for regularly monitoring gauges during operation. Change engine oil every 3,000 miles, 100 hours, or 6 months whatever comes first. Maintain a documented maintenance schedule including the company performing the services, corresponding receipts, and dates. Allow the engine’s coolant and oil to come up operating temperatures before the engine is placed in a high load or high RPM operating condition. DO NOT OPERATE MOTOR VEHICLE WITH ABNORMAL OIL PRESSURE OR WATER TEMPERATURE. PWPP recommends against the use of non-detergent oils, the used of which by the purchaser shall void this Limited Warranty. After initial startup avoid excessive RPM and vary engine RPM range for the first 5 hours of running time. High engine RPM operation may damage your new engine through friction and high temperatures. Also avoid long periods of idling. All motor vehicles should be equipped with gauges or lights to indicate engine temperature and oil pressure. Premium 91-93 octane fuel is required for Transportation engines. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
IMPORTANT NOTICE –TUNING, FUEL SUPPLY AND COOLING
High performance engines are very sensitive to tune (timing, air-fuel ratios, etc.). Any change or modification to the engine’s tune by the owner or performance shop, invalidates the warranty. High performance engines require more fuel to create the additional horsepower. The combustion of that fuel generates proportionally more heat. Inadequate fuel supply will starve the engine of fuel which can cause the air-fuel ratio to lean out and may cause immediate engine damage. OEM fuel pumps and cooling systems must be replaced with aftermarket products capable of delivering proper fuel supply and cooling.
IMPORTANT NOTICE – EMISSIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Federal, state or local laws, rules and regulations in the U.S. or elsewhere may prohibit the removal or modification of components that were installed on motor vehicles or engines by the original equipment manufacturer in order to meet emissions requirements or to comply with safety regulations applicable to engines or vehicles manufactured for use on public roads. Removal of such components and installation of PWPP Products may be illegal and considered to be emissions-related tampering under applicable laws, rules and regulations. COMPLIANCE WITH SUCH LAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE THE OBLIGATION OF THE PURCHASER OR VEHICLE OWNER. PWPP DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE.
IMPORTANT NOTICE – EFFECT ON OTHER WARRANTIES
Installation of PWPP’s Products (or similar products from other manufacturers) on a motor vehicle may void, reduce or otherwise adversely affect any warranties given by the manufacturer or seller of the vehicle, engine or other component parts. PWPP shall not be liable for any such adverse effect on such other manufacturers' or sellers' warranties.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
PWPP has no responsibility if customer-supplied parts are the cause of the Engine failure. If a PWPP purchased part fails under manufacturer’s warranty, we will replace that failed part and supply labor at a reduced rate. IN NO EVENT WILL PWPP BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR MOTOR VEHICLE, OR ENGINE OR ANY FINES OR PENALTIES, ARISING FROM OR OUT OF THE INSTALLATION OR USE OF A PWPP PRODUCT, EVEN IF PWPP HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT WILL PWPP’S LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT LIABILITY) OR UNDER ANY OTHER THEORY OF LIABILITY. TOTAL PWPP LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED 40% OF THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT.
